Padel tournaments in Estonia: how to take part and which formats are played

What padel tournaments are there in Estonia?

  • Centres run their own tournaments and leagues (see centres that host tournaments).
  • In friendly formats such as Americano and Mexicano, partners change from round to round.
  • Company tournaments are held either within one company or between companies.

Who organises official padel competitions in Estonia?

The Estonian Padel Federation (EPL). It was registered in 2017 and is a member of the International Padel Federation (FIP) and of the Estonian Olympic Committee. The federation’s website has the competition calendar, the competition rules and information on the player licence.

How are Estonian Padel Federation competitions structured?

Under the 2026 competition rules, there are men’s and women’s stages in the A, B, C and D leagues. The leagues are split by level: the top 70 players in the men’s ranking may not play in the C league, and the top 120 may not play in the D league. In some cases, stages are played as a single set to eight games, with a tie-break at 8-8.

To play in federation competitions, you need a player licence. According to the 2026 price list, an adult licence costs €31.50, and a licence for under-18s and over-65s costs €19.25. The licence is valid for 365 days.

What are the Estonian Championships in padel?

The Estonian Championships are the federation’s most important competition. The eighth Estonian Championships were held in May 2026 at the Padel+ Kawe centre in Tallinn. According to the championship regulations, participants had to be Estonian citizens and hold a federation licence.

Does Estonia have a national padel team?

Yes. In 2024, the Estonian women’s team qualified for the European Championships in Cagliari through the qualifying tournament in Oslo. The same year, Estonian juniors took part in the FIP Juniors European Padel Championships.

How do you sign up for a tournament?

For federation competitions, the calendar and registration instructions are on the federation’s website, and the federation also has a page on the Rankedin competition platform. For club tournaments, you usually sign up through Playtomic or on the centre’s website. You can often come to Americano and Mexicano evenings on your own, in which case the organiser assigns you a partner.

What are Americano, Mexicano and King of the Court?

What level do you need for a tournament?

Friendly formats suit beginners too, if the tournament has level groups. In federation competitions, start in a lower league. If you’re not sure, ask the organiser what the usual level is.

What should you bring to a tournament?

  • a racket, plus a spare one if possible;
  • a spare overgrip;
  • water and a snack, since you may play several matches in a day;
  • a towel and a change of shirt;
  • warm clothes for between matches.

At an official competition you only get 3 minutes on court to warm up, so do your own warm-up beforehand. And brush up on the rules, especially if the tournament uses the golden point.

How do you organise a company tournament?

  1. Choose a centre with enough courts free at the same time.
  2. Decide on the format. Americano works well if players are at different levels.
  3. Plan a short lesson for beginners before the tournament.
  4. Agree racket rental, balls and catering with the centre.

What are the international padel tours?

The top-level tours are the Premier Padel tour, which is run together with FIP, and the CUPRA FIP Tour. In 2026, both started using the star point, a middle ground between the golden point and advantage scoring (see how scoring works).
