Several figures about padel in Estonia are going around, and at first glance they don’t match. The difference usually comes down to what exactly is counted: people interested in padel or players, the whole of Estonia or a single city.

What do the sources say?

  • A City of Tartu press release (3 July 2026) mentions more than 50,000 people interested in padel. It does not say how many of them play regularly.
  • Siim Tuus wrote on the Endover blog (1 April 2025) about roughly 5,000 players and roughly 100 courts, 58 of which were indoor courts.
  • Padelnomics, an international database of padel markets, counted 76 courts at 25 locations in Tallinn (16 March 2026), which is 19.3 courts per 100,000 residents.

How should you read these figures?

The figures of 50,000 and 5,000 don’t contradict each other, because the first counts people interested in padel and the second counts players. The court figures, however, are from different dates and cover different areas, so you can’t compare them directly.

Figures from our directory

As of 26 September 2026, our directory of centres lists 55 centres and 192 courts: 114 indoor, 74 outdoor and 4 singles courts. More than half of the courts (101) are on the directory’s Tallinn page, which also covers some centres in neighbouring municipalities. The data comes from the centres’ websites and the list of courts from the Estonian Padel Federation (Eesti Padeli Liit, EPL). Our figure is more recent than the others and also includes courts in smaller locations.
