You don’t need a special bag to start playing padel. If you play regularly, a padel bag keeps your kit in one place and protects your racket from knocks, heat and cold.

Should you get a racket bag or a backpack?

Racket bag Backpack
Holds several rackets, shoes, clothes and a water bottle 1–2 rackets and smaller items
Good for people who drive, tournaments, training sessions people who cycle or use public transport
Advantage separate compartments for wet and clean things comfortable to carry, takes up less space

What is the thermal compartment in a bag for?

A thermal compartment is an insulated section for your racket. It protects the racket and balls from extreme heat and cold, for example in the sun in summer or in a car in winter. It’s useful in the Estonian climate, but the best protection is not to leave the bag in the car.

What else should you look for in a bag?

  • a separate shoe compartment, so dirty shoes don’t touch your clothes;
  • a small pocket for valuables and keys;
  • a durable base, because the bag often stands on a wet floor;
  • comfortable shoulder straps, if you carry the bag for long periods.

What should you carry in your padel bag?

  • your racket, and a spare if you need one;
  • balls;
  • shoes;
  • overgrips;
  • a water bottle and a small snack;
  • a towel and a spare shirt;
  • plasters and sports tape;
  • for outdoor courts, sunglasses, a cap and a warm layer.

How should you look after your bag?

Take your shoes and wet clothes out of the bag straight after playing and let them dry. That way it won’t start to smell. Don’t leave the bag in the car with your racket inside, especially in the sun in summer or in the cold in winter.
